New Range Rover Classic 3.5 V8 2-door from 1982

Thursday 26 nov. 2009 I bougt another Range Rover Classic (see photo, left is Andy, former owner), an oldie from 1982!

The reason I bougt one from this age is, it's an oldtimer now and that's why there are much less rules in modifying the car, e.g. bobtail the rear-end and also shorten the frontside, change the engine for a much bigger one, trow away the roof, but still be street-legal!

This is because of the Dutch law / carregistration, checked by the RDW
Friday the 26th I went to the RDW and the customs to import the car (bought it in Belgium near the French border) and set the papers on to my name, everything went well, so now I can make the modifications I want.  So first make a plan what and when to do, and when ready (yeye, that will take some time!) then go back to the RDW for a final check, APK en another registration.

I'm not sure what I wanna change, this list I know:
- bobtail the backside
- shorten the frontside
- big, very big mudtires
- higher the suspension
- make an roll-over and safety cage
- good lights on top
- make it so it can drive true deep water and mud, snorkel, exhaust, axle-breathers, etc.
- when ready paint in matte black with orange details / signs

I haven't decided yet, but thinking about:
- make it an pick-up truck
- remove the roof
- exhaustpipes left and right going up to the sky
- change the engine   now it's an 3.5 V8 on LPG (not running, maybe a little work)
am considering make it an big but leightweight diesel, or an bigger petrol / LPG
- different winches, probably hydraulic
- yes or no an backseat(s)
- maybe a spare tire on the motorhood
